Drive the spectacular Hunnedalen valley to Byrkjedal, and stop at the traditional Byrkjedalstunet restaurant and souvenir outlet. Continue to Oltedal and visit Gjestal Spinneri (spinning mill) where traditional Norwegian sweaters are sold. From Oltedal it is only a short drive to the ferry quay in Lauvvik where you catch the tourist ferry to Lysebotn (pre booking required). The trip on the Lysefjord is guided, and both the Pulpit Rock and Kjerag are among the highlights. In Lysebotn 27 hairpin bends are awaiting you on the climb up to the Eaglenest Restaurant. Stop here for a grand view and a bite. From here the road continues over the bare and rugged mountains back to Sirdal.
